Believe and Become
"Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn,
as long as the bridegroom is with them?
But the days will come
when the bridegroom will be taken away from them,
and then they will fast.
No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment;
for the patch would tear away from the garment,
and a worse hole is made.
Neither do people put new wine into old wineskins,
or else the skins would burst,
and the wine be spilled,
and the skins ruined.
No, they put new wine
into fresh wineskins,
and both are preserved."
MATT. 9:15-17
Are you doing differently that you may become a reflection of Jesus? Are you becoming what you believe? Believing in Jesus is much more than a proclamation, it is a way of living, of breathing, of being that is unlike anything you experienced before you knew him. Exist in him fully and realize the full measure of what faith in him can do for you!
Precious Father, let me listen to your voice, read your word and put it into practice. May I walk the walk following your footsteps. Replace my worldly attitude with a Holy Spirit inspired inclination that turns to you first.
"Wisdom is as good as an inheritance. Yes, it is more excellent for those who see the sun. For wisdom is a defense, even as money is a defense; but the excellency of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of him who has it. Consider the work of God, for who can make that straight, which he has made crooked? In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider; yes, God has made the one side by side with the other, to the end that man should not find out anything after him." ~ "I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation" ~ "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
